We are a research laboratory located in the Department of Psychology of Syracuse University. We study the benefits of various contemplative practices (e.g., mindfulness-based interventions & yoga) for children, adolescents, young adults, teachers, and families. The mission of the Mind Body Laboratory is to investigate ways to promote health and prevent negative outcomes in youth, schools, and families through the use of contemplative practices and interventions.

The Mind Body Laboratory is highly interested in addressing health disparities in minority populations through applied research and clinical service provision. School-based research projects occur primarily in the Syracuse City School District, a large, racially and ethnically diverse, high-poverty urban public school system. Graduate student research that focuses on addressing health disparities in underserved and at-risk populations is strongly encouraged. Dr. Felver fully supports the School Psychology Unified Anti-Racism Statement and Call to Action.
